Nadia Lakdawala romance with fashion began in 1999 when she
launched her eponymous line of bridal haute couture and prêt
wear. Since then there has been no looking back for the Nadia
Lakdawala label whose design impel us is the perfect antidote to
the festive "mehndi or mayoun"
The label is a glorious mélange of elaborate pattern making;
intricate detailing; and rich, vibrant hues moulded from classic
chunri, bandhni and "discharge prints" into delightfully ethnic
ghararas, shararas and Dhoka pajamas with their hint of romantic
whimsy and ethnic allure.
Nadia describes her own label as a perfect amalgamation of
complimentary crafts and arts techniques that create sleek,
structured and elegant silhouettes in a festive array of colors.
" The Nadia Lakdawala label has exhibited in major cities in
Pakistan including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and
Multan; and US cities including Houston, Dallas and Los Angeles.
Nadia also shoed her stunning collection at the "Vivaha" bridal
exhibition in Delhi and Mumbai in August and September 2005
where her indigenously produced bandlni was hugely popular and
created the exhibition's main conversation piece.
